Developmental Editing and Query Packages

If you are interested, please complete the form below. Please note, I’m an author working on lots of projects as well as a full time Development Editor. As much as I love freelance editing, my time for it is limited and therefore gets booked up well in advance.

Most importantly: I will only take on projects I feel passionately about and believe I can help. This means I will pass on projects which don’t match my expertise. In these cases, I will still be able to recommend the best place for you to find your next step on your writing journey, so please do feel free to enquire.

I read and write what I edit, so we’re talking fantasy, dystopian, apocalyptic, and light sci-fi. Age category doesn’t matter as much, but my strengths lie with YA. I can also help with trade medical, psychology, or science books (think Adam Kay, Lauren Slater, and Oliver Sacks).

Typical feedback includes:

• Developmental reports (structure, plot, characters, pace)

• Development comments in line with text

• Line edits (tightening that prose, removing ambiguity, and punctuation)

• Query package review

Don’t worry if you’re not sure what you’re after - I can work that out based on a sample. Smaller edits are also recommended, so feel free to chuck over your first 10,000 words. We’ll polish it up together!
